Common questions
- Will dispatchers actually trust AI triage?
- Eventually — and the path matters. Dispatchers trust AI triage when (a) the scoring is transparent, (b) the model is tuned against their actual decisions over the pilot period, (c) overrides are easy and tracked. Trust earned in the pilot scales to broad rollout. Trust assumed in week one rarely sticks.
- What about the rate-con parsing — can AI handle non-standard formats?
- Mostly yes; tail cases need exception handling. AI parses 90–95% of rate-cons cleanly when the model is tuned to your typical sources. The remaining 5–10% gets flagged for ops review. The right metric isn't perfect parsing — it's the fraction of dispatch time recovered, including the exception handling.
- Does this work for brokers vs. asset-based carriers?
- Both, with different emphasis. Brokers get the most value from tender triage and carrier onboarding (high-volume, document-heavy). Asset carriers get more value from status correspondence, predictive maintenance, and dispatcher-decision support.

AI doesn't directly file ELD logs, hours-of-service data, or anything regulator-facing without human review.
- Can AI improve our predictive maintenance, like Werner's program?
- Yes, with sensor data and a real ML pipeline — different category from the GenAI workflows above. Predictive maintenance from sensor streams is a more traditional ML problem (regression, classification on time-series data). The GenAI stack drafts the work-order narrative once predictive flags surface; the model that predicts is a different (and earlier-generation) class of system.
